Can't select right resolution? - Danny - 03-04-2012

About an hour ago I unplugged my old (secondary) monitor and plugged in a newer one. The old one was 17", with a native resolution of 1280x1024. The new screen is 19" but for some reason, won't let me select a resolution above 1280x1024 and it looks a little stretched.

I've installed the screens drivers and rebooted etc. but it's still not letting me select a higher resolution.
Any ideas on how?

Are your video card drivers also up to date?

Re: Can't select right resolution? - Danny - 03-05-2012

I kinda wanted to save that as a last resort, I've had experience with newer graphics drivers not working with some of my older games before. But it's worth a try, I'll download it now and say whether it worked.

Did you select widescreen in the settings?
EDIT: Oops I thought you meant ingame.

Knowing what gfx card you are using might be useful, and I don't think updating your drivers wont make your older games work ;)

Graphics drivers didn't help anyway :X
The card is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 1gb
