Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Russell - 11-16-2011 Hello there, I'd like to propose a promotion of all LVP Staff to the beta-team. In short, this is that I'd like:
This allows us to group more suggestions into a single place. Furthermore, I'd like to propose:
The Trac wiki should be deprecated in favor of the Development Portal. Opinions? Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Jay - 11-16-2011 Agreed. I think we also need to sit down and come up with a new set of rules for the beta team leader(s). It should be their responsibility to organise beta tests on a regular basis and produce feedback to us when necessary. This will obviously require them to have access to changelogs as well. I believe they should also be responsible for monitoring suggestions in the CSI board and again bring any half decent ones to our attention. Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Russell - 11-16-2011 I agree. For that, they can have access to the source. When will you be around on IRC so we can have a chat? Also, should we open up this forum for them? Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Jay - 11-16-2011 I won't be wholly active on IRC now until late Friday afternoon and even then I'm not sure if I will have much time unfortunately. I should be available Saturday afternoon though. Perhaps it would be wise to wait until 2.94 is live before we start introducing changes? Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Russell - 11-16-2011 We need to talk about that as well. Let's try to catch each other on Saturday. Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - MacSto - 11-16-2011 Access to tickets on Trac would be nice Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Pedro - 11-17-2011 (11-16-2011, 04:04 PM)Russell link Wrote: I agree. Me and BlueFox (the truly official beta team leader) have been kinda infiltrated in here since ever. :+ I'll try to help you out with everything I can, but honestly I didn't want any "official" rank for me. Mainly because right now my free time isn't as much as it used to be. Basically what I've only been doing since I got into the beta team is mapping and attending to the beta tests sessions, even though I have access to the source and I am able to create tickets as well. Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - xBlueXFoxx - 11-18-2011 I'm free to be poked when something is needed, I've already recruited more members in both the beta/mapper team (Difference?) as asked to. I'm basically waiting for 2.94 for me to begin playing actively in the main server again, as I'm busy doing my own things. Really staff are easily able to access the beta areas just by asking, but making it default would be easier, so I +1. [Edit] Can someone set Pedro to a lead tester tag? Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Russell - 11-18-2011 Pedro, could you write a few paragraphs about how you're going to improve the beta-team by leading it, in the third person? How would you like to change the team, would you want to make it more open/closed, how is testing going to be coordinated? How does it work in the first place? Bluefox can public a news message for the website then. Mere weeks after his appreciation award, I'm happy to announce that eF.Pedro has joined me as a LVP Betateam Leader. Pedro has been active in the team for a long time already, and more recently he has been doing several of the associated duties, so this promotion definitely is deserved. Pedro and I will improve the beta-team by .... Thanks, xBlueXFoxx Re: Getting all of the Staff in the beta-team - Russell - 11-18-2011 I think a management member would need to approve this as well, or can you, Jay? |
