In fact, percentage of Muslims who hate Jewish people are much way less than Muslims who are just neutral with Jewish, I'm pretty much sure that people who lives outside non-Muslim countries do hear false information and unfortunately they do believe it, and I personally have nothing against Jewish people, I even might have one or two Jewish friends.

Also one thing I thought about stating, we're not terrorists either, not because Bin Laden is a terrorist, we're all terrorists. x_x

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - SAFC - 05-18-2011

I have some questions for Christians, questions which I've previously asked Christians and I get answers which don't make sense or contradict.

In Christianity, is God all knowing of what we do, think and feel?

If Jesus was the son of God, why doesn't that make Adam his son also? He was created first so that makes him the first son of God, right?

In Christianity it's believed that God is in three parts. The father, the son and the holy spirit. What was God the father before Jesus was created?

Why did God need to create a third part of himself? Would that mean he was incomplete before God the son was created?

If Jesus died for our sins, why should anyone make an effort to do good? According to Christianity we're pre-forgiven, so does hell exist? If it does what's the purpose of hell if we're all forgiven already? If I'm wrong then what would cause someone to goto hell?

These are questions which I believe are directly related to Christians core beliefs, the fundimentals of the religion.

Anyone who is gonna reply with some attempt to be funny, don't waste time. I want answers from Christians.

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - STyL4 - 05-18-2011

God in our religion is omniscent.

Adam's reply: (interpretations)
"Did you know that Adam was referred to as a ' son of God' .. so were the angels.

Here are some intersting references.
Luke 3:38
The son of Kenan, the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

Genesis 6:2
The sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

Job 1:6
Then one day, when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, Satan also came among them.

With Adam and the Angels...God was their Creator, their Source. In this context, they were called " sons of God' .

There is a distinct difference between someone being called a ' son of God " and someone being ' a Begotten Son of God"

To be someone's Begotten Son, you need to have their life. Jesus is not just called the Son of God, but the ONLY begotten Son of God.

The Life of the Father is the Life that He shared.

Adam never partook of the Tree of Life because of sin.
That shut him off from participating in God as a real son. The Life of that tree never got INTO Adam.

Today, when we believe into this Jesus, our spirit, that deepest part of us, becomes enlivened, reborn. God is Spirit and by believing, Man's spirit within him is BORN of God. Not adopted, but born, even begotten.

John 3:6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit

1 John 5:1
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God, and everyone who loves Him who has begotten loves him also who has been begotten of Him.

Hope the post was okay. Amid all your goofing, it really was a worthy question that deserves respectful answers."

3.

"Thus, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are also eternal, omnipresent, omnipotent, infinitely wise, infinitely holy, infinitely loving, omniscient."" before that, he was also a father, also holy spirit,... Bible kind of used it as metaphore or renaming the real meanings.. those 3 mean the same and it didn't really change..

"The doctrine developed from the biblical language used in New Testament passages such as the baptismal formula in Matthew 28:19 and took substantially its present form by the end of the 4th century as a result of controversies concerning the proper sense in which to apply to God and Christ terms such as "person", "nature", "essence", and "substance"."

oh, now i see.. you asked about the third part. well:

The Son eternally comes from the Father and they share the Spirit. All three act together. - causes were not because he was imperfect

However, that spiritual substance which the Father and the Son share is not an impersonal substance or a mindless force, but is throughout scripture attributed a separate personality. For instance, in Genesis 1:1-2, God speaks out his Word while the "spirit of God" hovers over the waters. Likewise at the Incarnation, the angel spoke the words of the Father and the Holy Spirit came upon Mary to conceive the Son. Luke 1:29-38. The Holy Spirit has spoken to people, and continues to speak, directly and personally (3). The Spirit also, as a distinct person, has a mind and experiences emotions (4).

4. there are rules God made in order not to go to Hell or in order to go in Heavens. the rules that are made might afffect your way of thinking but if u believe in Destiny it is decided but obviously there has to be something to make influence on you through life-time so ur destiny is decided.

"if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."
Acts 10:43 says "All the prophets testify about him [Jesus] that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

Forgiveness is also bundled with "repentence" in many verses.

Based on these and many similar verses, I conclude that the presumption in your question is in error. People go to Hell because they were not forgiven. God does not automatically forgive all sins.

let me define mortal sin and sin:

Sin is any thought, word, desire, action, or neglect (omission) prohibited (forbidden) by the law of God.

mortal sin: (theres also venial)
A "big" sin, a serious violation of God's law.

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - Maddolis - 05-18-2011

I'll try to help, SAFC.
Haven't been very religious for a while but I went to church for a fair time.

He's meant to be, yeah.

More of a semantic question IMO, if we're all meant to be "God's Children" or "Children of God" then yes, Adam would be one of God's children, but I think the Church means for us to be children of God in a more metaphorical sense. The whole bible's full to the brim of metaphors.

That's more catholicism (which is a branch of Christianity)- whereas I think more straightforward Christians are more concerned with just Jesus rather than God and the Holy Spirit (don't quote me on that though). God's meant to be the father, Jesus the son but I wouldn't have a clue as to exactly what the Holy Spirit's meant to be. Perhaps when Jesus was meant to have cured the blind or resurrected the dead, he called upon the 'holy spirit' (like the force, in Star Wars, perhaps?) to assist.

Ohhh now I understand your question- it's not that God is in "three parts," but that Christians praise the three things- God (the father), his son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.

This was never preached at the church I went to but supposedly we're all meant to have "original sin." This completely contradicts Jesus dying for our sins so it'd be a good idea to ask a Priest or someone who's studied religion properly about this.

In reply to the answers to my earlier questions.

I forgot to ask..

Presuming you possess a bible in your home, do you believe that bible to be the words of God?

If yes, do you notice any contradictions within the bible?

I have a video to share. I found it really interesting, it'll also explain in a way what TwistedDemon was talking about, when he said there are different versions of the bible, and only one version of Qur'an.

I've read parts of the Bible myself and found many contradictions and writings that differ entirely from each other, when describing the same event.

I've read all of the Qur'an and am reading it again, and haven't found any contradictions. Which is one of the reasons I believe it to be true.

Here is the video I mentioned above. I'm not posting this as a way to support the validity of the Qur'an, if you read the Qur'an thoroughly with an open mind you'll see it's truth yourself. The purpose of the video is to show how certain parts in the Bible, key parts, are inaccurate, and almost certainly wrong.

It's approx 1hour 40minutes. Enjoy.
