Sorry but if you even need tips for HTML then you've got a problem. Basically what you made was putting a pic in the center of your website & normal text?
Try to get into HTML & CSS more, and after that JS or maybe PHP before you show off your "work"

Thats what I made in about 30 minutes of work, using HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL, thats the best combination for designing a simple blog.

HTML isn't even a coding language, it's a textformatting language, you can't do anything with HTML except designing a page.
