Player driving features - xBlueXFoxx - 01-14-2011 http://forum.sa-mp.nl/index.php?topic=27608.msg369200#msg369200 As Hooger has recently posted in CSI, he is constantly moaning about player driving features that are turning players away from LVP. However I do not agree with Hooger with the carbombs, it's mainly what Jay said that catches my attention. It's the recession, isn't it a bit overkill? I have read the topic for it and seen the main point, but it's just one of those additives that make LVP appear as if it is more dead, getting a property payout every 3 minutes along with the raped property value makes it near impossible to make any income at all, if you invest into 5 properties with the price of 1mil and an income of 30k, while getting the 30k payout every 3 minutes. 30x5 = 150, $150,000, and if you spent 5,000,000 on properties. 150k every 3 minutes to get up to $5,000,000 would be about an hour and 30 minutes to make any progression in money. Even though we apparently want people to stay in the server longer, the goal is not to piss them off and bore them to death. (Oh and excuse my shitty math skills, I'm more in the English than math, as it shows.) Another feature worth commenting on is the crash damage feature, I've seen the topic for it, as stated it may be "more realistic", it's also another pain in the ass feature to deal with because let me set up and example. You are driving around ramping, minding your own business, you crash a few times, have to go heal. You are driving around getting props because of a slow money system, crash a few times in the process, have to go heal. Which yeah, with the barrel feature any fag can just snipe you when you are trying to refill your health, but that's already been stated. Really this is just what I have to say about these features, little things like this can make the server rather boring ect. My suggestion would be to remove crash damage if the term "stunt" is going to stay in the server name, and maybe change the properties the original payout time or maybe 2 minutes, it would make a big difference. Regards, xBlueXFoxx Re: Player driving features - Jay - 01-14-2011 The initial intention with the decreased property payouts was to decrease the average players money, which has definitely worked. We certainly did not intend on leaving anything of this nature permanent. I was thinking about reverting properties to the usual 1 minute payout for the next update, until a wise man suggested something which attracted my attention: Quote: I think you should visit your properties, in a similar way to assets in Vice City and San Andreas. i.e. you buy a property for $1000, a few minutes later it has produced say, $250, but instead of immediately receiving it, you have to revisit the property to collect your earnings What are your thoughts on this? Obviously we would make it VERY clear that one would have to attend the property to collect their earnings (for nabs). Textdraws, gametext messages, 3d texts, constant chat messages spamming about it, etc @ Crash Damage: Ticket wrote. Re: Player driving features - thiaZ - 01-15-2011 That new property layout wouldn't give you any time to do other things than collecting your property earnings. Yeah if you get a shitload of props that means constantly going back and fourth between them. Re: Player driving features - Jay - 01-15-2011 yeah but it would keep players entertained ![]() Maybe we could create a central pickup where they can collect all their earnings. An unlockable or something. Re: Player driving features - Richard - 01-15-2011 @Jay: The original was 2 minutes, not one ![]() Also, how about doing it at the main bank or so? You can get your earnings there, but not 100%. Picking it up at the property could give you full or even a bonus. And the main bank would give like 80% for the lazy people. The actual propwhores could get their cash whilst lazy people still have a chance on getting some money (not everyone wants to go around the map constantly to get their money). I think it'll get boring quickly to just do nothing but get money from everywhere. Something I thought of, with it being at one location, maybe have a maximum payout? Like, you get money every 2 minutes, you have to pick it up every 10 or so? So people wouldn't just wait an hour and then get millions. Re: Player driving features - xBlueXFoxx - 01-15-2011 I'm liking the idea, maybe it will also demotivate idle whoring for money a little bit, but it needs to be perfected a bit, last thing we want is 10,000,000 people trying to kill everyone at the bank. Although people might bark for having to actually have to get off their virtual ass. Re: Player driving features - Jay - 01-15-2011 Alright, I've changed a few things with the economy to prepare for this. The maximum /taxiprice is now $100 instead of $500 Spawn weapons are now about 70% cheaper (except for grenades, they are actually more expensive )Players now spawn with $250, instead of $2500 The ship now earns $20 / second, instead of $50 /showmessage now costs $100,000 instead of 1 mil The maximum loan amount is now $500,000 Minigames now cost $250 to signup, instead of $2500 Teleporting now costs $17,000 instead of $75,000 Todo: decrease money earned from exports, decrease tax cap so that players get taxed for anything over $300,000 instead of 1 mil. |
