After a half year I fixed my PS3 (Yellow Light of Death Error) - Turkey - 08-09-2010

So my dad suggested to try to repair our PS3, which stopped working about 6 months ago because of the YLOD-error. After a failed attempt I found the video below on YouTube.

Playstation 3 reparieren YLOD ohne Gerät zu Öffnen! PS3 repairing without opening the ps3

All you have to do is to heat it up as showed in the video with a blower [for a few minutes] until it gets really hot and then cool it down with cold air.

It didn't take 5 minutes and voila, it worked to our surprise! That's for what Sony charges 170 €.

You may be laughing but this actually works top notch.
Living in a family with electricity as a job, we have a few years old Plasma TV.
It was one of the most expensive TVs in its time. But it didn't come without any problems from time to time.
One of the problems was, that it wouldn't start up. The stand-by light would flicker red.
What did we do? We took off the back of the TV. After looking at it for a while, my dad came to a point that a few of its resistors didn't work well.
He heated them up with the hairdryer.. And it worked!

This problem popped up from time to time. It's fixed now though it seems. :)

I guesss its like with batteries in your (TV)remote.... if they are empty just warm them up (by hand or in your trousers or something) and they will work a bit again...... Electricity must glide..(is that propper english?) and when its warm it does that better (or throw water :) )
