SA-MP Server Tutorial/Install Guide - Matthias - 07-28-2010

Hello,

I'm making this topic so people who feel like starting with PAWN and their own SA-MP server don't have to start from zero and find stuff theirselves.

Note that this is just a guide explaining the actual server and getting it ready, not a coding tutorial.

Step 1:

Download the SA-MP server from http://sa-mp.com/download.php

Step 2:

Unzip everything to the folder you want your server files in (this can be anywhere).

Step 3:

Open up server.cfg in your root SA-MP folder.

The only line you _really_ have to change is the rcon_password line. Change it to whatever you want as server RCON pass. rcon_password matthiasftw for example.

The hostname is the display name in the SA-MP client, the filterscripts line is every filterscript it tries to load from your /filterscripts folder.

The gamemode0 line is the gamemode it tries to load when starting the SA-MP server. I personally suggest changing this to gamemode0 lvdm, because this gamemode is more clean, and it's easier to edit stuff yourself there.

Step 4

Start samp-server.exe in your root server folder. If it doesn't stay open, check server_logs.txt and search for an error when starting the server. If it remains open, you're running your first SA-MP server!

Step 5

As for joining the server, add 127.0.0.1 or localhost to your SA-MP client as a new favorite (do not close the black cmd window!), and if everything went good, you should now be able to see your own SA-MP server.

As for the coding of the server: you're running lvdm, so if you want to change something, open lvdm.pwn in gamemodes/ and press F5 to compile it, if it's succesful, you get a new lvdm.amx to run.

I cant host server.. i can see my hosted one in List if i add "LOCALHOST:7777"

But not when i replace Localhost with ip....

how to fix it?

You should probably open your 7777 port on your router

To the adress box, type "192.168.1.1", and you will need to write your password and username. If you didn't change it, type "admin" and "admin". Then you will be in.

Match the pictures and click what that site marked into the pics, gut luck.
