Flight Simulator X (FSX) - g3344 - 07-14-2010

Own up, I know at least 10 of you play it. Here are some questions to those who do play it:

A. How often do you play FSX and for how long?

B. What's your FPS and game settings? (like scenery settings)

C. Do you have any add-on aircraft or scenery?

D. How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 as a 'virtual pilot'? 1 = I just fuck around in the jet planes :D 10 = I use FMC and do everything by the book

E. Has FSX changed the way you look at flight and/or possible future careers?

I personally am addicted to FSX. I do flights up to 14 hours long, performing all the procedures of the real aircraft including VORs, FMC navigation right down to airways and pressurization systems.

But one of the things when it comes to FSX is that because the entire world was covered, some areas are rather..poor compared to their real counterparts. In-fact there's only 10 airports around the FSX world with custom made scenery :P

Anyway, because of this I recently started creating payware scenery add-ons for FSX. At the moment it's involving a heck load of 3D modelling in 3DSmax and a 23,000px by 80,000px image of the airport. And then about 20 more of those to cover the entire island. Now it may not seem like much, but the island I'm covering is just a bit smaller than the whole of California. I wondered if their were out of the few here that play FSX develop products for it?

I'm not 100% sure... but I think Jordi likes planes :)

I played it. Maybe it takes a lot of getting used to, but I crashed after 5 minutes of flying. Well, if you can call it flying... more like 5 minutes of trying to get off the runway and then hitting a tree.

A. How often do you play FSX and for how long? - Last time I played was ages ago.

B. What's your FPS and game settings? (like scenery settings) - Think I ran everything on high with a good fps.

C. Do you have any add-on aircraft or scenery? - Nope.

D. How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 as a 'virtual pilot'? 1 = I just fuck around in the jet planes :D 10 = I use FMC and do everything by the book - 1.

E. Has FSX changed the way you look at flight and/or possible future careers? - Maybe.

A. How often do you play FSX and for how long?
When I feel like it. :P Hmm mabye daily 1hour. :P (Latelly I don't play much FSX anymore because I got only 10-20FPS's sinds I got Win7).
Ohhh, and I play FS2004 sinds Hmm... around 2005?, and I bought FSX 2-3years ago.

B. What's your FPS and game settings? (like scenery settings)
I got the lowest settings with ~100FPS (Only 10-20FPS sinds I got Win7 >.<)

C. Do you have any add-on aircraft or scenery?
I got FS passengers and a military aircraft, but I don't know the name of it.

D. How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 as a 'virtual pilot'? 1 = I just fuck around in the jet planes :D 10 = I use FMC and do everything by the book
I always try to make it so realistic as possible. I fly the most of the time with a boeing 747-800 (My favorite plane.), but for some reason I always crash when I try to flare. :S
I guess I always forget to look at my speed indicator... (In my last landing there was a f@#}#{king annoyed fly who distracted me of my landing. >.<)
I tried to followed a few lession but I couldn't because of lack of English, but still, I know the most important things in FSX.
I use the ATC, ILS (somethimes) and IFR (everytime <3) and I fly most of all from Brussels National Airport(EBBR) to Shiphol (EHAM) (And reserve). :P

E. Has FSX changed the way you look at flight and/or possible future careers?
I wanted to be a pilot IRL before FSX, but it cost 80,000€ - 120.000€ for the education...
But they said that if I really really wanted to become a pilot that I could do it. o:

Ohh and I got a bit experiments with 3Ds Max, mabye I'm gona download it again, but that program waste much space of my disk and I got not much space on my laptop left.
(Please, don't ask me why. :X)

Re: Flight Simulator X (FSX) - Cave - 07-14-2010

A. How often do you play FSX and for how long? I play it quite a lot and have been playing for over 2 years.

B. What's your FPS and game settings? (like scenery settings) Most of them are on the highest settings, except scenery has some sliders a notch lower.

C. Do you have any add-on aircraft or scenery?
Lots.

D. How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 as a 'virtual pilot'? 1 = I just fuck around in the jet planes :D 10 = I use FMC and do everything by the book 8/10.

E. Has FSX changed the way you look at flight and/or possible future careers? I have always wanted to get a job as an airline pilot one day, and continue to work towards it.

:)
