4 Tools to improve performance - xBlueXFoxx - 05-24-2010

To go along with me "4 ways to speed up SA:MP" topic. I have a few recommended free programs they may help some people out.

1.Auslogics Disk defrag. (Works much better then windows default defrag tool).
Download
2. Ccleaner (This can clean your harddrive of unneeded things and also repair any issues in your registry that may possibly be slowing you down)
Download

For people who record videos.
3. WeGames video recorder (Has much more stable recording then fraps and it is free! Also barely drops any FPS at all unlike fraps with an even better video compression | The only loss is no sound.)
Download

4. Gamebooster (This will disable visual themes and close any unneeded apps while playing your game, freeing up ram and CPU space.)

If anyone has any other tools just post below.

Another tip for people recording videos would be to record it onto a second harddrive, this will allow your windows harddrive to run freely while the other takes the strain.

Fraps recording depends on your settings, you just need to adjust them manually and you will be good. And for some people the sound loss is really a loss.

Are you referring to GTA performance?

You should NOT defrag, maybe years ago on the old drives, but modern ones do not need defragging and can in fact do more harm than good.

No sound voids the recorder

My lag fixer I posted seems to be very effective at improving FPS.

Actually modern larger hard drives around 1tb need defragging more often then the older drives, mainly because there is no difference in the drive rather then speed, buffer, and size. Now as for SDD's I'm not too sure about because I do not own one.

I can't record sound anyway, so I'll give it a try.

It reduces my FPS just as much as Fraps >_>

Windows XP. Service pack 3.
Quite a low spec computer, but I was hoping it wouldn't slow it down any more than fraps does.
