Hello, i'm a big Rise Against fan (their by far my favorite band, cos of their epic lyrics & songs), but although i usually always understand and get their lyrics, i dont really get what this song is about, and would be glad if some of you would help me understand the meaning
so here's the song, its called Rise Against - Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated (lol i know its a damn long song name)

I hope some of you can help me understand the deeper meaning of their song, especially the bolden'ed part.
I really love the song and the part where his screaming turns into singing again (2nd bold part).
If you can tell me what you think the song is about and what the deeper meaning is, please tell me

Damn I love Rise Against, they fucking rock, haven't met too many people who actually listen to them

When i saw this thread I thought it was refering to Rise Against the Machine.
So I clicked and listened, how wrong I was. Garbage. Only emos and children would like this music, they can't even come up with an origional band name. Now its true I havn't heard any of their stuff, so I gave them a chance an listened to this whole song... deep.. ROFL
Sorry, in my opinion its just bland nu-metal crap. Its safe to say, and I would bet money on it that they'll never get anywhere. Terrible.
Again, the deep comment made me laugh so hard - even took a screenshot, brilliant
Really makes you think... yeah, really makes you think how shit the vast majority of modern music has become over the last decade.
If you want deep.. and I mean REAL deep listen to Pink Floyd. There are many other bands too... LOL LOL LOL (don't mean to insult anyone, but ROFL)

bubbles, wasn't referring to that song, was referring to their other songs and I listen to Pink Floyd, fucking love them, but tbh never heard that song that Hitman posted.
its not that bad of a song but bubbles, should listen to their other songs before judging them honestly.

I took the time to listen to Savior, Prayer Of The Refugee, and Give it all. I've come to the same conclusion, typical nu metal which sucks, sounds too much like Nickelback, which is so 8 years ago. so in conclusion, rubbish.
This of course is merly my opinion, but considering my music collection is 1.5 terabytes big I stand by my statment, Emo childish rubbish

well we can't all have such an awesome sense for music as me I guess jk...just saying bubbles, you should be more open to listening to more songs by an artist before judging them, which after my comment you did and I accept your opinion
and bubbles their not emo, all the songs I've listened to by them are political and have good points

As i said, 1.5 terabytes of music in my collection, I'm willing to guess thats approx 10 times more than your ability of storage in total, and I like choons of all genres so I stand by my opinion. No need to listen to more from this band, listened to their top rated songs, they suck, I respect myself too much to waste time to listen to their other crap. If there was a slight chance of hope from ths group then it might be worth digging in more, but there isn't.
As for politcal and good points.. I rank 'I'm a barbie girl' by Aqua to be more political and deeper than that shit.
And I know I'm not the only one
