Internet trouble - Matthias - 04-18-2010
Hello,
I'm currently having problems connecting to some sites.. wiki.sa-mp.com & forum.sa-mp.com don't work. (Yes they're up). Pinging them in cmd gives me 'General failure'
. Pinging them directly through the router does send the packages though 
. Any ideas?Matthias

Did you ever thinked that you wasted your life in this game and made too many people angry, somebody reported you to your parents and they installed a password protected program to save your time by blocking all GTA related websites?
Check the major antivirus websites, is they are not working too, is clearly... you got a virus!!
Check this file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts, it could be used to block certain websites.
Use Security Task Manager and check hidden programs are running, if someone installed a program to control you
Or maybe they are blocked from router and not from your computer? No much knowledge about routers...

1) I don't 'waste' my life, I believe this is something fun to do in my spare time, next to hanging out with my friends.
2) I have my own laptop, probably unlike you.
3) My parents don't really care what games I play.

Looks like a DNS problem?
Most ISPs have their own DNS servers that your connection gos through, and sometimes they are out of date, bad caching or there are 'sites' missing.
You can use other DNS servers, you'll have to ask around or google for a good public one - you can't use the DNS server from a friends ISP as the vast majority (99.9
of ISPs restrict access to their DNS server to only their i.p range.Once you find an alternative DNS server you just have to enter the 2 new DNS server i.ps into your router config.
Also, your ISP might have access to an alternative DNS server, so trying using the alternative as your primary.

If it isn't a DNS issue, which it probably isn't since I just read your edit, then you can just use a proxy to access sa-mp.com? If other computers can access it on your connection what about trying another browser on the machine in question, sounds like a security setting or your browser being slighty fucked via spyware/virus - evne if it was removed the removal could have taken something with it - or even a bad cluster on your harddrive which happens to be one which your browser is installed on .... difficult to know

I expected from you to realize that the italic part was made just for laugh... take in serious rest of message.
Good that you have your own computer (like me) and not being threated by parents for what you doing, but this not means sure that no hacker could control your computer and block something.
