GTA SA startup problems... - Munch - 02-05-2010 Okay so I have this problem with GTA in general, that includes single player aswell as SA-MP. When I click to go on GTA SA, or select a server on SA-MP and click connect, the screen just flashes a bit and nothing happens. I checked Task Manager and according to that, GTA SA isn't even running. About a week ago my PC went crazy, forcing me to do a complete reformat. While I was at college, my uncle installed the latest graphic drivers (Nvidia), AVG, Zone Alarm etc and GTA SA was working fine but the other day it just suddenly stopped working. The only thing I've installed lately (after installing the important stuff) is this GameCube emulator called Dolphin. I got bored so I went to see if they made one yet and got Dolphin and it's been since then I've had the problem. I've gotten rid of it once to see if that helped and it didn't so I got it back. Any ideas? Re: GTA SA startup problems... - Harry - 02-06-2010 The emulator could have screwed up on of your drivers (e.g. video). You should try reinstalling that(them) then see what happens. Re: GTA SA startup problems... - Munch - 02-06-2010 I actually thought that, but when I tried installing a new mirror it failed and reset to the previous drivers (which were the same drivers). I then tried installing the drivers already on the computer again and it made no difference. What I haven't done is installed older drivers then updating again, which I'll try when I get the chance. Thanks for the help! I found the solution! Well I didn't but someone else did. It was the file gta_sa.set in the GTA San Andreas User Files... As said before, thanks for the help Harry, even though it's not needed now
Re: GTA SA startup problems... - Kase - 02-06-2010 Deleting that gta_sa.set resolve the most of this problems

What's the purpose of placing that there if it's only gonna cause problems?! The only purpose I can see is to cause problems.
