Tuesday 24th November 2009: Debrecen vs Liverpool and Fiorentina vs Lyon (CL) - Munch - 11-23-2009
Liverpool go to Hungary this Tuesday needing to win. But a win will count for nothing if Fiorentina win against Lyon. If we win Debrecen and then and Lyon draw against Fiorentina we'll have to defeat Fiorentina by 3 goals to qualify into the last 16. If we defeat Debrecen and Lyon defeat Fiorentina then we'll just need to win when it's our turn to face Fiorentina, even a 1-0 victory will do the trick.
It'll be like the end of last season when Liverpool were winning all the time and needed United to slip up just ONCE for us to win the PL and they never did. This'll be the same.
Whether we qualify or not, if we win it may bring up our spirit and be what we need to get a nice winning streak up and running. And if we don't qualify, unless they've changed it, we'll end up in the Europa League, and if we win that we'll be the first team to win it since the new name

The thing is, Lyon have already qualified to the knockout stages so they will probably put a weak team out against Fiorentina. It depends if they're willing to gamble for top of the group.

I know that's been worryin me too. And what's even worse is Fiorentina have a weakened team now with some of their key players out so Lyon might see even less of a reason to risk their good players.

It's the Europa League actually
If we win we'll be the first team to win the Europa League so it'll still be good...but that's if we win.
Due to us being outta the CL I'll have to do what I did when England were out of the Euro, support another side....uhm...I want to say Rangers as they're my second team but they're not going through either...and I want it to be an english side so Arsenal can win it.

Well the football thread is meant for like, posting results for most average football matches but when there's a match coming up like two rivals or two CL matches deciding a big team's fate it's worth a topic.
