Electronic Music - Madlaggz - 11-01-2009 Post all the electronic music ye want, such as house, trance, techno, who cares? So long it's electronic aye? Let me start out, Trentemøller is a GREAT artist, one of my favourites ![]() Why? His music make me think. His music is VERY beautiful, and unique. I love it. Trentemøller-take me into your skin Trentemoller - Miss You Trentemøller - Moan (High Quality) Also DJ Antoine is quite nice
Re: Electronica Music - Maka - 11-01-2009 Electronica isn't a genre. It's a commercial term for a whole bunch of music that came out during the 90s. Re: Electronica Music - Madlaggz - 11-01-2009 Well, it's a term for the music I'ld like to get posted here then ![]() "Electronica includes a wide range of contemporary electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, including foreground listening, some forms of dancing, and background music for other activities; however, unlike electronic dance music, it is not specifically made for dancing" Qoute from wikipedia ![]() If Trentemøller isn't electronica, what is it then?
Re: Electronica Music - Maka - 11-01-2009 Chillout, Ambient, "Progressive" House music. Say if you call Trentemoller electronica, then how come Daft Punk (french house) and The Prodigy (big beat) are also producing "electronica"? Because big beat, which falls under a breakbeat category and french house which of course falls under the house category obviously aren't the same thing, then why are they called the same thing? That's like saying heavy metal and viking metal are exactly the same, whilst they aren't. Electronica is simply anything electronic. This is why this music is called electronic music or electronic dance music (EDM). Moby-Go(trentmoller remix) There, a remix of Moby's 'Go!', by Trentemoller. :: Moby - Go (Trentemoller Remix) :: 320kbps This sounds more to the electro house side in my opinion. Now here is an example of what people also call "electronica"... Prodigy - First Warning Doesn't sound quite the same does it? And yet another example of what I mentioned earlier.. Daft Punk: Daft Punk - HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER (Alive 2007) Yeah, I've put their most well known track. And sorry but Wikipedia fails a lot.
