I, myself, prefer Family Guy because they make funny jokes and also the characters in family guy walk better than in South Park + some of the names in Family Guy are funny and stuff while in South Park most of them are serious names(Cartman, Kenny etc.).

I prefer South Park myself, the plot corresponds to current events, and it's on later when I'm watching TV.

Family Guy makes me laugh on more occasions, but overall SouthPark's better. Funny story lines and everything. Family Guy never really has stories, they just go with what they got.
The older SouthParks are the best, where Cartman would make that funny voice when he's tryna get his own way and stuff...now the episodes are too serious. Still funny though, particularly the pirate one.
Also, should add Simpsons, since they're considered a rival of Family Guy. And maybe American Dad (love that show!)
