Advice on PC - Sean3 - 07-02-2009

Hi , i wanna buy a PC , but dont wanna build it , so dont even bother telling me shit about building a PC. Since my mom wanna buy it off Best Buy , these are 2 options i found good so far. So i would like your opinion on either one.

PC 1 >  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9366599&type=product&id=1218092152723

PC 2 >  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9249495&type=product&id=1218068107386

Crappy GFX on both

Edit: Only decent GFX on that site is the gaming desktops but they're not that very good either.

I would obviously suggest building your own since you will save $200 and you will have a much longer warranty (lifetime on some components), but that's your decision.

For sure go with a Core 2 Quad, which is in the Asus PC. If this is going to replace your current PC then i would suggest to buy the PC and then upgrade the video card since the on-board video is really crap.

yea intel build is better, but the graphic cards, geforce g100? i was like wtf xD must be integrated, so you will need to upgrade the graphic card.

Re: Advice on PC - Sean3 - 07-03-2009

well , both of them got a PCI x16 slot , and the graphic card i got is e-geforce 7900 GT , and it supports PCI x16 , but as i said , i cant build one.

This is the graphic card i gots , u think it would work on the Asus PC ?

You would have to make sure it has a good enough powersupply for it. I think the requirement for the 7900GT is 400W.

Nono, a 7900GT chip consumes under 100% load ~90W.

Plus that CPU that has a TDP of 95W and the usual shit like Ram, LEDs, HDD etc i think a good 400W power supply is wayyy ENOUGH and still has lots of free space if you want to upgrade a more hungry videocard some time.

PS: Make sure you dont buy crappy power supplies that die out after several weeks, good manufacturers are OCZ, Corsair, Enermax and BeQuiet.

Well dont blame me when his 350W crap ass PSU dies :P

Re: Advice on PC - Sean3 - 07-03-2009

i got a crappy 500W PSU , so all i need is a good manufacture PSU?

Re: Advice on PC - cloakster - 07-03-2009

It probably will still be able to run since it is 500W and won't be as stressed.
