Jerome - abusing Moderator rights - Carlos_Garcia - 03-23-2009 I was online last night and FatCobra was argueing with some chik about who had been playing on this server the longest. It was completely ridiculous. He kept whining cause he thought he had been playing the longest. I made a comment that "FatCobra needs to wean off his mother's tit" - Which ANYBODY with common sense knows that this old expression means that he[FatCobra] was being a baby and he needs to stop whining! Well, Jerome mutes me and says to stop insulting a player and his family! Wtf? I tried to explain to him that it wasn't an insult, it means to stop whining. I had to use "@explanation" to try to tell him that I wasn't insulting him (because I was muted and couldn't chat/pm him. Then he threatens to kick/ban me for misuse of the @ command. What the heck? Who made the genius decision to give him moderator rights? He is a f*ckin idiot. He was actually abusing his rights to get back at me for attacking him with a Baron earlier in the day. Re: Jerome - abusing Moderator rights - Richard - 03-23-2009 It may be a known expression for you, but it is / may not be not for non-English. That's the thing with others using expressions, not everyone understands them. If you normally explain what it actually means, I'm sure he'd understand. Logs, starting from below: Quote:50 23-03-2009 03:35:30 PM from [Raymond] (0) to Carlos_Garcia (2): That's what CSI is for. Although the you talking to Raymond with the @ wasn't really misuse as you were muted, I do see his point. If you just normally explained what it meant instead of ^, it could've all been fixed easily ingame. Re: Jerome - abusing Moderator rights - Carlos_Garcia - 03-23-2009 I agree. Thats why I was trying to figure out what country he was from. That way I could explain that here in the good 'ole Southern US, it is an expression and not an insult. But I didn't even get a chance. Very frustating. Still, he shouldn't just go around muting/kickin ppl unless he HAS a reason. He didn't even understand it. Maybe I'll offer him a crash course in southern dialect. Re: Jerome - abusing Moderator rights - Richard - 03-23-2009 I might even have muted for it myself You could've explained it though, just with @ |
