Help with mic needed - OmfgUrANoob - 03-04-2009 Okay everyone, First of all, thanks for reading this and thanks for your time. Here is my problem. I have 2 different kind of Mirophones. 1: An USB one, which works fine. 2: An normal one, which is brand new, but for some reason it doesn't work on my pc. Here are the symptoms: When I try to speak on teamspeak, no-one hears me, even though the bulb in front of my name lights up. when I open up the volume controle, I can either mute or unmute the microphone. The only difference is that when I unmute the microphe my own sound is all buzzy and chkreeky, and still no-one can hear me. I use XP. And the soundcard is a RealTek but don't know the type. If anyone has an idea please respond. I am desperate! Tnx Dafydd Wouters A.K.A. OmfgUrANoob Re: Help with mic needed - Rien - 03-04-2009 it's called being ignored ![]() on a more serious note; maybe the buzzy stuff is an echo of yourself, I used to have that too, but I forgot how I fixed it
Re: Help with mic needed - OmfgUrANoob - 03-04-2009 no i wasn't ignored, i asked people if they could hear me and they did not respond and the moment I used my usb mic they responded the first time. Re: Help with mic needed - g3344 - 03-04-2009 ah, i think i know: 1. Make sure all mobile devices are switched off. 2. Try using sound recorder, this could find out if the mic is the problem, or TS. 3. If you have tried extending the mic using an extension lead, this can cause buzzy, hissing and crackling. 4. check the batteries, with low power, microphones can get a bit odd. 5. check you don't have any other sound inputs of any kind while using your normal mic. 6. this sounds daft but check its plugged in properly. hope that helps.
Re: Help with mic needed - OmfgUrANoob - 03-04-2009 this is what i meant http://www.freewebs.com/dhpn/vd1.wav do, right clikc -> save target Re: Help with mic needed - cloakster - 03-04-2009 Always keep the microphone muted in the volume control. That microphone setting is for the sound to go in your mic and out your computer speakers. In teamspeak, go to: settings > options > go to the sound devices tab and what does it have highlighted for the input device? Also make sure that you have it plugged in correctly and if you have a 5.1/7.1 setup, the inputs might have changed for the microphone. Dafydd Re: Help with mic needed - cloakster - 03-05-2009 5.1 Speakers I was saying that cuz for me, i was unable to use the back input port after hooking up my 5.1 speakers.Thats the correct setting. I would try a different program like skype or the voice thing in msn to test if it is your mic or TS.
