PC upgrade - Richard - 01-21-2009 Hai, I am planning on a PC upgrade. Quote:OS: WinXP Professional 5.1 SP3 (Build #2600) (Note: generated with DarkEngine on IRC, so some things may be missing )That's what I have right now. I know, far from great. Now, what I would like to hear, what should I upgrade? What's the most important? Please help me out as I don't know about this stuff myself. Thanks in advance! Re: PC upgrade - Nudie - 01-22-2009 Didn't you have "kids"? Re: PC upgrade - Mike - 01-22-2009 You should follow Dennis and consider getting a Mac. Ask him about it.
Re: PC upgrade - Agent - 01-22-2009 48GB ram ?! OMG . How much are you ready to spend about an "upgrade" ? Re: PC upgrade - Darkfire - 01-22-2009 (01-22-2009, 01:05 AM)Agent link Wrote: 48GB ram ?! OMG . Audio Memory: Used: 632/1024MB ^ That's the ram. The 48GB = the HD
Re: PC upgrade - cloakster - 01-22-2009 You have a S939 AMD board. They discontinued their S939 products over 2 years ago so your basically going to be stuck with building a whole new computer. Even if you do find a S939 X2, its going to cost a lot for that CPU and more RAM to go with it. It wont be worth it since you will be investing in a very dead format. Also, i believe your motherboard does not have any PCI-E, which means it would not be possible to upgrade your video card to anything good. An Intel C2D with a P35 motherboard and DDR2 ram will cost very little, so i would say it would be worth it to build a whole new C2D comp ![]() I don't know any online PC stores in the Netherlands, so if anyone knows of some, please post the links
Re: PC upgrade - FarePak - 01-22-2009 That computer looks outdated, aka old Never even knew you could get 48gb HDD's Re: PC upgrade - cloakster - 01-22-2009 (01-22-2009, 02:46 AM)FarePak link Wrote: Never even knew you could get 48gb HDD's Its probably an 80GB hard drive that's partitioned. Re: PC upgrade - Mark - 01-22-2009 As graphics card, I would suggest you get Nvidia. Either 9800, 9800+ or GT 280 series. I'm getting 9800+ once I have collected the money. And without a doubt you should get more RAM. 4GB will do and higher, if you can afford.
