Complaint about flames, and...What is and isnt acceptable? - SAFC - 11-25-2008
I'd just like to say to start off im not innocent when it comes to swearing and using some flames towards people in game. I consider it mild. Like "easy bitch" "you lag like a sticky shit"...I was muted a few times and i accept it and often apoligise after if i feel i was over the top...
Last night i was kicked for calling someone a "red headed fat assed bint"...This was a joke as people who play often will know the Red head + fatass = Clown Skin. Bint = Old Person. It was a silly jokey remark, not really a flame. The ingame crew at the time didnt kick me but the muted me for the "easy bitch" comment, which i accepted i was wrong, and called her a silly sponge...
Anyway the reason for this post is to get a clear view on what is a kickable / muteable flame and what can be considered a joke. And why some flames get over looked by some and not by others..
The other morning, i was told that im a "child malester" because someone couldnt kill me... i replied by making fun of their spelling. Then they went on to say that i rape kids who have aids. I reported that and they've been banned.
This morning there was also someone this morning flaming me and candygirl for killing them... i'll post the logs from them below... (all taken from echo logs so they're from server time).

I hope sometihng will be done about this and a propper description on what flames result in mutes, kicks and bans...
Example, using a desease towards someone in a flame = ban?
Calling someone a whore = mute / kick? does it depends on how often the person does it?
It seems it largly depends on which crew member is taking the action against the flamer, but i feel there should be 1 set rule for each type of flaming.
Like a guideline for each type of flame...
And i have an idea which might already be in place i dont know... an IRC bot which picks out certain words. HIV, AIDS, child, cancer, anything like that. and have it logged and someone check it daily. Then decide on the action to take. That way people wont feel they can get away with flaming to such extents because no crew members are around to do anything.
