Ping can also depend on your location, but 189 isn't very low tho.
The lower the better.

as in 189 is better than my previous ping i.e something like on mars ping - 1000 & 800

To improve your ping, close all online-applications like MSN, ICQ, xfire, messengers, steam etc.
Oh, and while your playing online - dont download things at the same time.

If you want your ping to be lower try not to keep open any internet applications. ( and Firefox or internet explorer)

Hm i was wondering the same my ping is usually 175-200.I don't download anything while ingame or have anything else open.Any suggestions how to lower my ping? ty

Where are you from?
You can get a very high ping, just when you live far far away from the server - then you cant do anything for a better ping.

Well one my ping was usualy 100-140 .. Then it became like 200-250 (dont know why) and now its back normal again (100-140) ..lol
