[CSI] problems with temp mod - Ben - 05-07-2007

i was made a temp mod on sunday night and i was doing quite well tbh
i found 1 chitter, taught 2 people about ship shooting and told another about how taxi aint a hack rolf.

anyway, i timedout around 3 am (in which there were no other admins / mods on.)
i signed back in and obviously wasnt a mod again.
i had been constantly nagging 2 certain players for using caps laming etc before i timedout, then after could only make hollow threats about jail etc

so i think something should be done to stop this, i beleive there should be some way that temp mods could sign back in as temp mod,i know it might not be possible, but is worth a thought.
ben.

If they could log back in as tempmoderators it wouldn't really be temporary, heh..

Yeah, it's a problem that we face when we tempmod. But, if they have to retemp us, they can keep an eye on us - and that's important.

could u set the person as a mod for a time limit ?

Re: [complaint]problems with temp mod - tomozj - 05-07-2007

I guess that's another way of doing it, but then what if the timer runs out when none's on? And, it would be very messy, like if someone timed out on this timer, then someone could login under their ID and become a tempmod. Ouch.

Re: [complaint]problems with temp mod - Richard - 05-07-2007

Isn't that name-related? (The temp-mod not the id)

Re: [complaint]problems with temp mod - Jay - 05-07-2007

It can be I think, or even IP-Related

Re: [complaint]problems with temp mod - Richard - 05-07-2007

Now that I think about it, it must be name-related or something, if you look at 'normal' admins... how does that work?

Re: [complaint]problems with temp mod - Joeri - 05-07-2007

they have an other "level" in the member database, they need to login like everyone but they get more powers
there are now 5 levels (i thought) member-mod-admin-management-owner

8)

How about when som1 is temp je stays temp until a new crewmember comes online, then ju wont have a timer.
And the timer willl never bee to long cuz when another mod/admin comes in he will lose the temp.
Then u wont have 2 go and see as giver of the temp rights who and what and when etc.
