Was going to make a topic on that actually. I had an idea, driving license system with a few different features.
- Vehicle ownership. Players with a driving license can purchase a car! Features of purchasing a car include:
- Possible to teleport the car to you, only in world 0, every 5 minutes, and for a high fee.
- Modifcations save. When the vehicle respawns or when you teleport it too you, if you mod it, the mods stay on the car.
- Per-session only.
- Personal number plates on owned cars
- Road tax every so often
- If fuel is introduced, bigger fuel tanks so you can drive around for longer.
- Driving school tests - Using the driving school in san fierro, players have to pass a test too get a liscene (it saves btw). It is expensive to take the test, you only get one chance per session, and it is hard to do. The classic driving school mission, City Roaming. You have to drive a SuperGT through san fierro within a timelimit without damaging it.
- Seatbelts. If a player has a driving liscene, they can use seatbelts which decreases the health loss when crashing.
- Vehicle imports. As a cheaper method than vehicle ownership, players can import vehicles at the Auto Bahn Vehicle import places.
- Taxi driver jobs. If taxi a taxi driver system is introduced, then you have to have a license to become one.
- Garbage pickups - More of a singleplayer mission as another method of earning money. With a drivers license players can have the opportunity to become a garbage man, and pickup garbage around LV
- Delivery minigame. Again, you will need a license to do that mission as-well.

Like the idea of having your own car. Don't like the possibility of it being teleported to you, you should be able to buy a lock, maybe even purchase a parking space.

I like the ideas you got here.
Maybe a parking lot where you can purchase a spot to park your car (with a lock on), although in case there are too many cars on that parking cars could start spawning in the middle of roads or cause lag...

admins could create 'parking spots' for people so they'll see a red marker on their screen where they can park their car in, just like properties are created now.

i remember that feature at the old SiN server, you buy a car and use /getcar to get it. i think it would be an awesome addition to lvp.

I'd like things not to be admin-controlled -- so players can get on with playing the game without the crew having to be ingame. Whilst we are eliminating systems such as the pluspoint system, it's daft to counter this by putting more pressure on administrators.
A car park (emerald isle?) would be cool, just for like storing your car. They could be locked, and add alarms or something notifying the owner if someone tries to enter it (see LS-RP). Your car would never respawn, however a /getcar might be a little non-RP.. perhaps a delivery service which takes 30 seconds? That way you can get it if you're stuck far out, however it's not like the bat-mobile which comes right when you're about to die..
And generally speaking about the driving license system: nice. It would be pretty fun, and handy to have. Maybe we could even make some premium cars such as the monster truck and SWAT van for driving license holders only, preventing random noobs who don't know much about LVP abusing them?

i say you have to complete a series of challenges to get your drivers license, like you do in that driving class in sp. maybe eve a pilots license? .. and boaters license?
