Those that you mentioned will sound very good, but more for home use and in combination with an amp i suppose. Allthough your ipod will not have troubles driving those phones, your ipod would have more trouble with the HD650 or higher impedance headphones.
Maybe you can try some headphones first before you buy it. There's no way anyone can tell you which ones you will like the most, because some like more bass, detail or highs etc...
But if you want to use them on the road i'd go for a closed design. Also pay attention if you can change the cables and parts etc... i used to hate it when cables were worn down and you had to throw your whole headphone away just because of the cable...

Hey, I only used that to see anything at the first MCOM on Wake Island!
Not that it helps too much, it's not a very good flashlight, they sorta screwed up on that.

Ok so in the end I went for these:

Not the prettiest but each part is replaceable and they fit pretty snugly too.
They're pretty damn awesome but I've noticed when I take them off my ears they seem to leak a lot of nosie though I'm not sure how much they do when they're on. Going to have to up my bitrate too to get the best out of these.
