It's all theoretical, our whole understanding of the universe as we know it might change overnight by one single new phenomena that we didn't seem to be able to detect before. Science is not determined, it's based on our current knowledge.
First of all, Big Bang didn't happen in space - spacetime was created with the Big Bang. And we are not living in a fairy tale world that a single event could flip all the cosmology we know up-side-down. It's not how it works.

It is if you're a typical American voter.

Isn't there already a religion topic where we've had this same discussion numerous times? Do we really need another one?

Believe it or not, the whole theory is based on the Doppler effect. If somehow we find out that it doesn't indicate an object getting further or closer, the whole theory would be fucked. I'm not saying that would actually happen but it's just an example.
And that space-time thingy is theoretical, it's not based on any observations.

wtf are we arguing about now?

No, it's not based only on the Doppler effect. Doppler effect is sort of a descend from the Hubble's law, which shook the ground of science back in the days. It was followed by other evidence, such as the evolution of galaxies, distribution of gases, and, probably the best-known - cosmic microwave background. "The space-time thingy" is theoretical to the extent that we cannot actually reach the edge of the Universe. And it's based on observations, because space is expanding - Universe must have been smaller in the past.

So what's at the end of the universe?

A simple question that can never be fully comprehended by our feeble brains.
