Re: New lap top - cloakster - 02-23-2008 Do you have a mouse, keyboard, speakers and monitor that you can use? (or any?) Re: New lap top - Erin - 02-23-2008 All i got is a wireless mouse Re: New lap top - cloakster - 02-23-2008 Well, you can buy them all seperately ![]() And what is your budget for this computer? Re: New lap top - Erin - 02-23-2008 anything below 2,000 Re: New lap top - cloakster - 02-23-2008 The best i can see is this desktop from HP: Click Here ![]() When your on that page, go to the top right where it will say 'Customize and buy', click the one thats next to the $999.99. Switch the video card to the 8600GT (the 8800GT is not worth it for your situation) and you can always upgrade later on. And switch the hard drive to the 750GB (since its a free upgrade). I would suggest to buy the monitor and speakers separately since you will want to have more choice when it comes to that. Dont buy any of the software since you can download them anyways if you need to. Dont forget to get an extended warranty from them (if you want). And you are good to go
Re: New lap top - Maddolis - 02-23-2008 You'll notice (as is the fact in that most recent link) that a lot of computers will have their 'base configuration' and a cutom one- ie you'll have your basic parts, such as a 16inch LCD monitor, 1 gig RAM etc, and they'll offer for you to upgrade to, say, a 19inch widescreen, or 2 gig RAM, for only a small price extra. Always worth it- upgrade the essentials. I looked at the specs and the price and thought "wow! This is a great laptop for the price. And then I saw the processor. Man, that's slow." I suggest you find a laptop with a decent processor for both the main PC and for the graphics (and good memory too). |
