Not to mention lots of ground based proofs and arguments which support the Big Bang. I can't see how some sort of an ancient book can be seen as a substitute for scientific logic.

We don't know if the universe was a single point in space or not, we don't know for sure. It's all theoretical, our whole understanding of the universe as we know it might change overnight by one single new phenomena that we didn't seem to be able to detect before. Science is not determined, it's based on our current knowledge.

The Big Bang theory isn't 100% complete or proven however very reasonable hypotheses suggest that all matter came from the one small point.

It is by far the most reasonable theory. Even if history before the big bang somehow is learned, I'd bet the general details will remain true.
