Well the download takes ages (+ installation), but it takes ca. 15 minutes to buy the game from your local computer store and install it.

Some people don't live near a store.
And I've bought GTA IV for €7.50 off steam, while it's €50 in the local stores.

Bought CoD MW2 retail the day before it released for 44 euro's it was 60/65 euro's in Steam store..
Most games are more expensive the first few months in the steam store compared to retail.

Well, sometimes Steam has awesome deals. Like right now, you can get L4D2 for just $10.20.
