well ofcourse getting a pre-built one is more comfortable, but shops usually want 30-40% more cash then the single components are worth.

Indeed, and there are often huge bottle necks. Like the system I have now, has a quadcore, 4gb ram, but because they loaded it with vista x32 bit, I can't use as much as I have
