If you press escape and to alt+tab and leave for a few minutes and come back you get the error, or well, I had it several times.

Or just press Alt-Tab. It's where on Windows whenever you click a different window it'll switch to GTA, and mess up the mouse. When you Alt-Tab back to the game, you'll see the famous "Error"
