You should realise what kind of impact specific suggestions have on the overall performance. Adding a small youtube/flash video to a signature can decrease the page-loading type with ~450 ms on average systems, which is an aweful amount (yes, it's highly noticeable -- the average visitor wants pages to load within 2 seconds, we're damn close to that already). Bold/coloured text is not required and will only emphasise the potential use of free advertising spots signatures have. Before we might even consider "relaxing" the limits, the entire html-tree of the forum would have to be reconsidered and a sufficient amount of optimalisations are required.

Right now, no. In the future, perhaps, but not soon.
