I'm sorry but that website looks like its from 2005. Is that package even tested by the folks over at av-test?

This A/V is by far the BEST A/V out there..
Even the free edition is better than the rest.

I've been using this A/V for close to ten years now, trust me when I say it's legit.

I know a lot of people who use it, including my old boss (A multi-millionaire) who made his money through creating Software.

it may look old, but it works and is updated a hell of a lot more than the other free ones.

It's not funny, it's the truth.

People go searching for pirated material (i.e. films, games, software) from "bad" sources which are riddled with malware. They open email attachments without thinking about who the sender is and why they might be receiving said attachments. They see something that looks too good to be true, and download/run it.

Anti Virus suites such as AVG or Avast are of course helpful, since we all slip-up every so often, and perhaps visit a webpage that we can't possibly know is going to be packed with malware. More often than not, however, it's just down to stupidity and not being careful.

As part of my job, I'm forever coming across websites (most commonly, WordPress) that are hacked/compromised. These people blame the server security - when that isn't the problem at all. Most commonly these sites get hacked because people use "nulled" (aka pirated) plugins or themes - products that usually aren't free. This leads me to inspect the file system, come across dozens of base64 encoded files (to obscure their malicious nature) which are responsible for a whole heap of trouble, such as SPAM/unsolicited mail. Easily avoidable.
