Of course the server is pretty basic right now. We want a decent code base to work on first. I'll be working on a register/stats system the coming days.

For the low price you can buy the game these days is it really worth it? 15GB is a big file to download.
But to answer your question, I'm pretty sure IV:MP will work with a pirated game.
