The cheapest but best card u get today is ATi Readon 5770 or Nvidia 460 its good cards that runs games good but maybe not every games on full but don't buy 4850 its to outdated from 5770 and 460. Trust me and the cards I told isn't expensive either so u get good performence for the cash

Xtra, don't go buying things you don't need. I have a HD4850, Dual Core 3.0Ghz and 2GB of Ram and I can run GTA IV maxed out at 30fps.
However, if you have Windows 7 I'd recommend getting 4GB of ram (3GB is about 5 - 8 *insert currency here* cheaper, so just go for 4GB).
Anyway, what country are you in? I'll try and look around for some sites in your area for a good deal if you don't know how to build your own PC.

I got mine for around 900€, I built it buying the single parts (it's easy) and it's perfect for gaming imo:
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 @2.67 GHz
Motherboard: Asus P6T
Memory: 8 GB, 4x Kingston 2Gb sockets @ 1.333
Video Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850
Choose whichever case you like, and add a good 900W PS. You will save your money and you'll have a better pc

Whats funny about that? You know that a Core i7 at 2.67 Ghz is faster than a Core 2 Quad at 2.67Ghz...right? And you know that a 4850 is actually an amazing card for a low budget like Xtra's...right?
