and do u really think that human brain is ultimate and has no limits?
Well, start from Darwin's Theory of Evolution and Big Bang Theory. Not a couple of sentences for each of those but study them in depth.

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - [SWK]Dacads - 02-12-2013

Thousands of scientists don't believe in the big bang nor evolution theory..

ELABD isn't going to change his views so no point trying to tell him/people in general what to do as they will believe what they want to ;)

Islam, where shooting stars are missiles shot by Allah to kill the demons (which he created himself).

Paying attention in High School, University, self studying (deeply), serious books.

I don't think human brain has no limits, I was just wondering if you have really worked out the entropy of a head-sized black hole to calculate the amount of information you can store into it.

so whatever we discover there will be more.

I agree when you say the human brain has a limit, but we would die way before we reach that limit.

I wouldn't say there is a "maximum limit of knowledge" because, collectively, the knowledge we obtain is unlimited. One brain can't hold all knowledge, but over 7 billion brains combined would make it pretty damn close.

"Whatever we discover there will be more" Is not to say future generations will discover things we will never know about. If we ("we" meaning the human species) could live on indefinitely, I think it would be possible to discover "everything", it just takes time.

I mean no offence, this is just my own opinion.

What?
Ridiculously stupid comments like that require ridiculously good evidence to support them.

Well, I would say not scientists in general. Obviously an astronomer (big bang theory) or biologist (evolution) would believe in what they are studying.

I am a medical student, and some of my class mates are religious and don't believe in the big bang theory, however they do believe in evolution.

So it comes down to what type of scientist they are.  There are several types of sciences: Medical science, geology, chemistry, psychology, archaeology, zoology, meteorology, engineering; and that's just a few of them.

He also said "thousands", which is far from the total. In the US alone, there is over 500,000 scientist jobs. So worldwide, there is roughly 10 million scientist jobs.
TBH, I think his estimate of "thousands" is significantly low.

Who said anything about religion? _O-

There's people that don't believe in God nor science as the explanation of how life started

We have to keep all sides of the argument something not many are capable of thus why we move backwards as a race rather than forward

The way you phrased that post made me believe that.

Also, if you knew that you will get thrown away by your own family and community and that they will cut every relation they have with you, and that you may even have a very high possibility of getting your head cut off. Would you dare to say a word? I don't think so.

Well, yea. That's what I believe. Most Muslims who were born Muslims are actually in the religion because that's what they were taught since they were kids. Now don't go around telling me, "I chose to become a Muslim on my own because I used my brain!". That's a lie, if you really used your brain you won't be a Muslim, unless you are extremely stupid or have an extreme lack of common sense, which I hope is not the case.

I've been into discussions with atheists and Christians for a long time, maybe like 4 years. I'm actually glad I had these discussions, although I'm the one who lost eventually (since I left Islam). Because otherwise, I wouldn't have known how much bullshit religion actually has. When I talked with Christians I used to laugh at most of the things they told me, but then I thought... "Islam actually has the exact same bullshit, but in a different way." So, I tried to look at Islam from a non-religious point of view, and you can guess what happened after that.

So, just how you look at Christianity as a laughable religion, try to be an atheist for 30 seconds and look at Islam as a foreign religion. Let's see what will happen now, even though I doubt that you would even dare to think as an atheist because ALLAH IS WATCHING YOUU!!!
