Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - av1 - 12-11-2012

god doesnt exist
god cant exist my life is a proof of that
ever since my mother had cancer all my faith in god was lost
god made everything but now doesnt has the power to manage it?
god is just the force of our mind which forces us to be right. thats why they say that god is in everyone.

That doesn't prove God doesn't exist...it could just be that God is capable of "managing" what God created and just chose to leave it for people to work it out themselves...or maybe God purposely made you suffer for his own amusement. Religious people believe the hard times to be a test of your faith and if you continue believing and worshipping you get rewarded with Heaven.

...even though God is supposed to be all knowing and so shouldn't have to perform any tests.

And no, I'm not religious. :P

It's not a question of who it is, it's what. Every choice you & people near you has an impact on your life

Tbh, I'm not against the idea of the existence of a God either, It's quite logical when you think that this great universe was created by a higher power. But religion's view of God is just ridiculous, which makes me deny it at once.

That means we cannot plan our lives, we cannot prepare for the future.

You make your own decisions

I can make decisions and plans for my future but I cannot guarantee that they will not change due to random factors.

He doesn't believe in a god, he just (quite rightly) pointed out that your argument to god's nonexistence is incredibly weak. It could prove that a god is either not omnipotent, or that it is -malevolent- not nonexistent.
