By the way Maka, try disabling VSync for BF: BC2. Gave me like 100FPS in a few games.

If you didn't know: Vsync limits the FPS to your monitor's refresh rate. Most LCD monitors have a refresh rate of 60 so it locks the FPS at that so there is no screen tearing. All console games use it
I use it for other games but I've notice it helps not having it on for this one. I see alittle tearing but its worth having the extra FPS

Also, to disable it, right click desktop > NVIDIA Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Add the BFBC2 .exe to the drop down menu if it isn't already there, scroll down to the bottom of the settings and set "Vertical sync" to Force off.

Re: BF: Bad Company 2 - Turkey - 03-30-2010

The only thing that really "boosts" your FPS is the water detail and the HBOA.

Changing the other stuff will get you max. 10-15 fps. DICE should really do something about the performance. I also noticed that my laptop loads the maps slightly (~10 seconds) faster than my brother's PC, which is millions better than my crap. :P

I guess it has something to do with NVIDIA/ATi?

For example, I run Flight Simulator X, the world's most demanding game, on a 920 at 3.2GHz. It doesn't max out, yet I get awful FPS at certain plaxes, and after certain events.
Metro 2033 is the most demanding game

Hmm..so the slower loading of maps is caused by Vsync, which is actually turned off?

HBAO is disabled.

Vsync is forced off on any game. :)

Could be the DX version, Maka. If your GFX card doesn't support DX11, try with DX10. Could help.. :P
