Im glad your sessions in a church spoke on behalf of millions of people aswell.

Weak argument that doesn't make sense.
You and durrr aren't even getting my argument anyway, somebody said that the whole "preaching hell" thing is outdated, which it is. I'm not saying Christianity has completely wiped hell from absolutely everything that is being preached, but talking about hell is something the more extremist Christians do, and you won't find it in your average church.

The presence of religion has more of an influence on every day life than most people would think. Aside from Christmas and Easter, we wouldn't be in "2011" if it weren't for religion and we probably wouldn't have sheet music notation as we do now if it weren't for religion in the 16th-17th centuries- and those are just a couple of examples.

I know what you're talking about, and I think I posted it like 3 times already.
They dont talk/preach about hell in church because thats not why people go there.
However hell is a big part of religion as a whole. If hell didnt exist people wouldnt be afraid to sin, etc-

And fuck this french crap.

Hell exists according to the Bible. End of the story.

Since when is this topic about preaching anyway
You wont learn *alot* in religion by going to a normal preacher every sunday. Religion is much bigger than that

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - Maddolis - 04-01-2011

How many people go to learn religion seriously, of all the casual every-day families that attend every week?

Re: [Serious Discussion] Religion - 0Target0 - 04-01-2011

For me religion has been created as an answer for phenomena that mankind at one point could not understand. God was the answer to everything.

Later on it was a tool to create a 'safer' society, it gave people moral rules to live by. Yet, different beliefs, and the idea that your own belief is not the right one caused civilisations to clash and make war.

For me that God story is getting old for me. Believe in santa too guys?
