well, imo AMD has been making rubbish lately, so i guess intel would be the way to go. but the i7 is good for gaming and multitasking, plus i guess it's kinda futureproof.

EDIT:an i5 would probably bottleneck the graphics card.

Well blackbean i dont see where your 1600€ PC would be better than my 1050€ one :)

Most likely you'd be way better off buying a 750€ rig  now, and in 2 years or so another new  one for 750-800€, and you'll have a much better gaming experience than being stuck with a 1600€ rig that will be outclassed by next generation hardware anyways

Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V Pro
CPU - Intel Core i7-3770K
PSU - Corsair HX850W
GPU - Asus GTX680 2GB
RAM - Kingston HyperX 16GB 1600MHz kit
Case - Cooler Master HAF
SSD - OCZ Octane 64GB(for basic software and windows)
HDD - SeaGate Barracuda 750GB

I'd totally get it :3

64GB on your ssd is not enough

I may upgrade my computer at some point soon.
I was hoping I could just buy one or two things, but turns out my Motherboard isn't compatible with newer hardware (such as AM3 processors and DDR3 RAM)

So bearing in mind I don't want to spend too much over 300 Euros, thoughts on this system?

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition (3.4 GHz) - 89,90 €
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L LE - 58,90 €
RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Blue, 4 Go, PC3-12800, CAS 9 - 25,90 €
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870, 1 Go - 139,99 €

Total - 314,69 €

I already have a case, a PSU, CD Burner and two HDD's.

How long do you have it?

Personally I think a 64GB SSD isn't enough, I've got a 120GB SSD myself and I only have like 20GB of free space left on it, and I don't even have any games installed on it.

yh thats why is said "for basic software and windows," so you can just install windows, msn etc other everyday communication programs.
