Yes, you heard it right.
Every year, over one hundred and fifty million male and female crabs crawl to an island near Australia to begin the mating season.
During the mating season, each female lays approximately one hundred thousand eggs.
If about half of the crabs are female, there are 75,000,000 female crabs laying 100,000 eggs each.
That's 7,500,000,000,000 crabs.
In addition to the male crabs that fertilize the eggs (damn!), that's about...
7,500,075,000,000 CRABS PER YEAR.
